Beech Hanger is situated at just over 650 ft above sea level, yet is only a
mile and a half from the coast.
As the name would suggest the poroperty is surrounded by ancient and magnificent beech trees.
Its stunning location at the top of the outstandingly beautiful Quantocks and its exceptional views over the coast makes it the perfect luxury bed and breakfast to stay, whether it is
to rest and recharge tired batteries, or as a base to explore the numerous visitor attractions which you would expect from a holiday area steeped in ancient history such as this.
In keeping with the tradition of Wolsey Lodges, Beech Hanger is not a hotel, or a regular B&B. Each guest is welcomed and treated as a friend. Your hosts, Emma & Simon are passionate about providing a level of hospitality that is rarely experienced, ensuring their guests relax in their company and enjoy their stay from beginning to end.
On your arrival afternoon tea is provided and delecious dinners using the finest locally sourced produce can be provided. If however you prefer to eat out, your hosts will be only too delighted to advise on and make reservations for you.
Beech Hanger was featured in 1911 in Country Life, under the title of “A glorious but back to front Hunting Lodge”. The panelled sitting room with its large open fire was pictured and this still remains today.
For those who like to walk, the famous Coleridge Way is quite literally on the
back doorstep. Those guests who like to participate in other country pursuits
this area is famed for them all, including shooting, fishing, hunting and mountain biking. Well behaved dogs are most welcome and there are spare stables for
anyone wishing to bring their own horses. |
